Microsoft Windows is the personal computer’s operating system (The hub of your computer or laptop) created by a company called Microsoft and not to be confused with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Access) which are the applications created by Microsoft to run on the Windows operating system, nor should it be confused with the Mac or Apple Mac (Macintosh), created by a company called ”Apple Inc.“  Being rival companies Windows and the Mac are not compatible and when purchasing software you should be aware of this and check the system requirements very carefully, all of this information and more is covered on our ”Computers Made Easy course“

The Current version of Microsoft Windows is Vista (Business, Home & Ultimate, which are all very similar).  Which was released on 8th November 2006.  Then and still very popular in business is Microsoft Windows XP released in 1st October 2001.  Before that was Windows 2000 which many firms today are still using as it does the job they need.
